How will your donation help KFI?

Your financial support allows us to provide programs to help kids in underserved communities.

Student Resource Center

The funds will be used to support our Student Resource Store. Students can/will receive food baskets, hygiene products, school supplies, along with other items. The store will be managed and run by students.

STEAM Ignite Programs

Funds will be used to hold STEAM Ignite hands-on workshops for kids in school districts and communities where there are high levels of poverty. Students will engage with STEAM professionals who look like them and be introduced to some of the high paying STEAM careers.

Skills Programs

Funds will be used to help guide students along the four stages of their career pathways. High school students will learn social/soft skills, be exposed to careers fields, provided with employment placement, and connected to their career pathway.

KFI received a grant for $100,000 from the Oakland County Board of Commissioners

The grant allowed KFI to get creative in the ways we engage young people. We were able to bring former students back to work as paid junior camp counselors during our summer programing. We put the fun back in learning for a whole school with our unique financial literacy and worked based learning programs. The young people got to see the globe economy first hand when we took a worksite visit to Canada. The look on the faces of the students when they got to go fishing for the first time using Virtual Reality Headsets. This is why your support is so important, because we are just getting started.
